Join Us for an Evening of Art and Inspiration! Mark your calendar for April 16th at 5:30 PM and join us at the Houston Museum of Decorative Arts Pop-Up (412 East 2nd Street, former Back Inn Café).

We’ll hear from Pam Reed, Executive Director of the Houston Museum, as she shares the fascinating history of the Museum. Founded in 1961 in Chattanooga’s Bluff View Art District, the museum honors Anna Safley Houston, a visionary businesswoman and antique collector. Her incredible collection—spanning over 15,000 pieces of glassware, pottery, textiles, furniture, and more—continues to enrich our community.

Explore the pop-up collection, celebrate Chattanooga’s extraordinary women and Nightingales, while enjoying wine and snacks.

Parking is available on East 2nd Street and High Street.

We are having postcard parties to write postcards for the “Menstrual Hygiene Product Accessibility Act” - putting period products in TN public high school bathrooms. Come by the Society of Work (110 Somerville Ave) or our office (5715 Uptain Rd, Ste 300) to write a few postcards with sample language or personal stories - we will take care of address and postage!

Nightingale Network Social Hour

Join us for our first Nightingale Network social hour of 2025! We’ll meet at Scottie’s on the River and Scottie Bowman will be joining us to tell us more about The Launch Pad and their support of women in our community.

The Launch Pad is a 12-step based sober living home for women recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. They provide residents with a safe haven for up to two years.

Bring a friend (you don't have to be a member to attend) and learn about The Launch Pad’s work. We look forward to kicking off our 2025 Nightingale Network grant cycle with you!

DIRECTIONS: When turning on to Lindsay Street, from E 4th Street:

A half block down, turn left down the small alleyway (the second curb cut) that is marked with a column and a sign for Lindsay Court.

Go down alleyway. Foundation office is on the right (a large brick Victorian House with Magnolia trees in the yard). Parking is available behind the building.

Our next Advocacy Meeting will be to support Nuture the Next at Oddstory’s Giveback Night which is scheduled for November 7th at 5:00 p.m.

Voices 2024

This year, our program will focus on Women and Power and include a conversation with powerful and personal stories from two local leaders - Hamilton County District Attorney Coty Wamp and former Hamilton County Commissioner Katherlyn Geter. They will discuss important WFGC priorities, including criminal justice and healthcare. By sharing their own lived experience and the power of advocacy, our speakers will inspire us to continue to come together to create a space for all women and girls to thrive. We are also honoring Marj Flemming, who has uplifted many women in our community through her work as well as CWLI and the Women’s Fund.

Doors open at 10:45 a.m. for networking, Power of the Purse Silent Auction, and champagne. From 11:30 a.m.-1:00p.m. guests will enjoy lunch and a dynamic program.

This year, our program will include powerful and personal stories from three local women-Amanda Leming, Dr. Monkia, and Tangela Johnson. They will highlight key legislative priorities addressed by WFGC including human trafficking and financial abuse. By sharing their own lived experience and the power of advocacy, our speakers will inspire us to continue to come together to create a space for all women and girls to thrive.
